Vetericyn - as seen on RFD TV!

Lancer, age twelve, was rescued in August of 2009 along with Amigo and Jerry. On the equine body condition scoring system he was not quite a one, and not as healthy as a two. He was a perfect example of why we founded 2nd Chance. We hate to see any horse in this shape. For those who need to know, we don't blame his previous caretakers for his condition. We understand this particular brand of horse business, and we know what can happen if we take on too much.

As can be seen in the photo on the right, as compared to those below, Lancer has made remarkable progress. We can no longer feel his ribs, and he's continuing to pack on weight. His front hooves are trimmed, and his back hooves are in fine shape.

Lancer is a typical "wild" mustang. He does not yet trust people, and he is on constant alert for danger. Bringing him under saddle, safely and gently, is going to take some time. Due to his present nature he cannot be placed with anyone unfamiliar with wild horses and modern (humane) training techniques. As we make progress with him we'll post it here.

Lancer a few pounds heavier
Where'd my ribs go? Same place my backbone went!

Adoption fee: $75.00 or best offer. When this guy learns to trust a human again, he'll be a great little pony.

Note: We are willing to work with anyone who wishes to adopt a horse. Sponsorships can be considered monthly payments on adoption fees.

If you wish to help us save horses and be a part of our cause, you may...

...or you can come pick out a horse and take it home, or, if you love horses and want to have one, but have no place to keep one, you may sponsor one.  We have nine equine, four of which are prospects for adoption (placement). Several of our horses would be excellent choices for Fostering.
