But first, are you ready for a horse?

For those of you who have never owned a horse, please take the time to know and understand as much as possible about the natural lifestyle of horses. This link contains some helpful information. Please take your time and think about your decision at length before you commit to care for a horse. The responsibility is huge, and one might as well be adopting a child. Nonetheless, like a child, they can be a blessing, and can be a very positive addition to your family. Our current equine are shown at right.  For more information about each, please click their photos.

At 2nd Chance we practice natural (non-violent) horsemanship and natural horse hoof care. Modern scientific studies, and personal experience have shown that when it comes to horses' hooves, natural is best. When a shod horse arrives here, the first thing we do is pull their shoes, inspect their hooves for damage, flaring, overgrowth, etc., then we give them a Mustang Roll. Enjoy your visit!

If you wish to help us save horses and be a part of our cause, you may...

...or you can come pick out a horse and take it home, or, if you love horses and want to have one, but have no place to keep one, you may sponsor one.  We have nine equine, four of which are prospects for adoption (placement). Several of our horses would be excellent choices for Fostering.
